Hi! I’m Laurie deVegter.
Some folks call me LDV.
My background in design, real estate, and development has been a journey of curiosity, creativity, and adventure!
I fell into real estate in my mid-20’s as friend after friend asked me to “go with them” to look at houses to purchase. My background in historic preservation gave me the ability to see the possibilities and helped make my friends more comfortable. As it became clear that I had a knack for renovations, I realized how much I really enjoyed the creative process. An old Jackson Press found at a junk store becomes the focal point for a renovated Little Five Points kitchen. The entire process became so invigorating so I got my real estate license!
As a Realtor, I have over 14 years experience in a multitude of scenarios. These include working on site for Atlanta-based developer, Novare Group, on site in Savannah with a national spec home builder, K.Hovnanian, working with brokers to get homes staged and selections made, and building my own small cottage homes from the ground up. I have been incredibly lucky to have these wide experiences in my career!
Somehow along the way I got picked up to work as a market analysis on an HGTV show (I think “Bang for Your Buck”). I ended up creating a full service vacation rental management company. By fully staging clients’ homes and managing them, I was not only able to help them pay their mortgages but we were able to sell for profit once the market improved.. The value-add that their homes possessed after their “AirBnB transformation” helped them maintain ownership of the home and gave me immesasurable satisfaction.
I have utilized my background in historic preservation and city planning to envision small development opportunities for clients. I have chased small development dreams as well -- the cottages I build have given me the GREATEST JOY of my career.
Let my insight, passion, and creativity work for you!
