Hello, my name is Laurie deVegter.

My background in real estate, development, and design has been a journey of curiosity, creativity, and adventure!

I fell into real estate in my mid-20’s as friend after friend asked me to “go with them” to look at houses to purchase. My background in historic preservation gave me the ability to see the possibilities and helped make my friends more comfortable. It became clear to me that I enjoyed aiding friends and made sound design decisions. Also, it was FUN and invigorating to me so I decided to get my real estate license.

As a Realtor, I have over 14 years experience in a multitude of scenarios. These include working on site for Atlanta-based developer, Novare Group, on site in Savannah with a national spec home builder, K.Hovnanian, staging homes, and building my own small cottage homes from the ground up. I have been incredibly lucky to have these wide experiences in my career.

My ability to pivot and shift with the market has gifted me an abundance of opportunities. In anticipation of the “Airbnb revolution” I was able to show clients the value add of turning their unsellable underwater homes into income-producing vacation rentals. I ended up creating a full service vacation rental management company for clients. The value-add that their homes possessed after their “AirBnB transformation” helped them maintain ownership of the home until the market corrected.

I have utilized my background in historic preservation and city planning to envision small development opportunities for clients. I have chased small development dreams as well -- the cottages I build have given me the GREATEST JOY of my career.
